Efficiency

As a followup from the last post, here is the efficiency of the coilgun as a percentage in a pie chart. The small blue wedge is the output, the large green represents the energy lost.


The total input energy is 582.12 joules, and output is 15.31 joules kinetic

This second graphic illustrates the data presented in the last post. The number beneath each bar is the length of the projectile and the bar's height is the velocity in ft/s. These data are from the Mark7 which included shielding on the solenoid. For exact measurements please refer data presented in the last post.
